Spring , on the farm, 2011

Staying at the farm was the best part of our long , driving trip through Italy this spring 2011. Awesome views, spacious rooms, riding and taking photos , plus tasty breakfasts, made this part of our trip truly memorable. We started in Milano , then saw Venice, and came down to stay in the most natural beautiful part of Italy. Paris was extremely helpful getting us sorted out on our directions. She came and had us follow her to the farm. Our map just didn't have all the smaller roads on it, but this is like living in the real countryside with lots of farms and we found all the Italians in the area extremely friendly. After a morning ride with Stephan, we went driving through the countryside and went to see Old Certalda, a hill city:) nice ride up the cable car, beautiful. I also enjoyed taking pictures of the farm�s colorful chickensJ Paris supplied a delightful filling breakfast so we had a good start every morning. She was a perfect hostess and suggested restaurants and things to see in the area. She gave us the information so we could take the train from Certaldo to Florence , enjoy a day of sighseeing and return. She even translated so we could get all the correct info on the train.:) We felt perfectly at home and when the day came to leave, I blurted out, "I don't want to Leave!" Paris said �Well if you really want to stay another night...." And we did stay another night, Next time� more nights at the farm and riding .

Amazing tuscany getaway

Amazing location! Far enough out of town to really relax and enjoy yourself, but close enough to easily get around. Walking distance to town, and close to Sienna, San Giamugnano, and Florence. The host Paris and her son Stefano are so friendly and welcoming. The horse back riding in the Tuscan hills is a must! The view is something out of a painting. The whole trip was fantastic, definitely recommend it!

Heart of Tuscany

 If this is your first time to Italy or you are a repeat traveler and you are fortunate enough to visit the Tuscany area, we would recommend  Certaldo as your destination in Tuscany. It is centrally located in the Tuscany region with most places less than an hours drive. While in Certaldo, we highly recommend staying at the Villa Mugnano Riding Club, a B & B five minutes from Certaldo. Your hosts, Paris and her son Stefano, go above and beyond to make your stay at their charming 200 year old farmhouse an experience you won't forget. From a delicious breakfast overlooking the Tuscan hills, to writing down directons, to making dinner reservations, Paris and Stefano did everything to make our stay a memorable one. Paris and Stefano are the consummate inn keepers and helped to insure that our trip to Tuscany was a dream of a lifetime. 

Family Friendly

If you are looking for a family friendly place to stay in beautiful Tuscany, this is the place.  Paris made us feel at home and made it easy for us to get some much needed rest and relaxation.  Her down to earth style and wonderful hospitality made our stay enjoyable. Our three children loved staying here and want to visit again very soon. I only rated the cleanliness of this place a 4 because it is a horse farm and you will have some dust.  Other than normal type dust that comes along with a farm, it was very clean.

MARVELLOUS MUGNANO Riding Club

We've enjoyed two wonderful September weeks at the Mugnano Riding Club. Our room was cozy and comfortable and meals on the terrace overlooking the beautiful Tuscan landscape a delight. One can swim, ride, take walks or just lie in the sun when not touring the many old, charming hilltop towns in the area. Nearby Certaldo Alto is one of the best and also the least crowded. Paris is a most generous and helpful host and did more than we ever expected to make our stay the joy it was. Highly recommended!

Hello Tuscany

A charming place, great to come with the family.Nice cats,one great friendly dog,horses ,the area is really beautiful, the views from the farm are inspiring, and we would send all of our friends to this great place.Certaldo, the town near is also very interesting ,Boccaccio was from there.

If only we had planned to stay longer...visiting from Maryland

This was just perfect, located between Sienna and Florence, yet in the countryside.  Paris made us (who had never visited Italy) feel almost like family - just a little more pampered.  The rooms were lovely, the food was great, and Paris' recommendations were consistently excellent.  Her knowledge of the region was a huge benefit, making this stay not just a good value for the room and board, but a huge savings because she helped us use our time so well!  We will certainly return, and stay longer the next time.

Fantastica vacanza!

Un bellissimo posto immerso nella natura, comodo per raggiungere luoghi storici e artistici come Firenze, Volterra, Siena... Un'ottima colazione la mattina, una stanza molto accogliente e un'ospitalitÃ�  eccezionale anche per i nostri amici a 4 zampe. Gentilissima e disponibile Paris... un posto in cui tornare sicuramente! Too short a stay

We have 2 things to say about this property........We arrived too late, and left too soon. The friendliness,kindness of the inn keepers, Paris and her son Stefano are unbeatable: The location is so convenient to everywhere one would want to go and be. Paris is great with directions; and always available to suggest the next adventure: We stayed in the apartment with our dog; and they even put up a gate; on the back so he could enjoy the outside while we were off discovering new roads. It is kind of like finding home, on the road: Paris took us on a 2 hour ride; throught the trails to Certaldo Alto; on horses that were extremely well trained: My husband had not ridden since he was 6 and handled it all really well; with the encourgement of Paris. Looking for colorful, fun accomation in Tuscany. Look no furtherPS....great beds, great sleeps

I love this Tuscany

Really a beautiful spot.. in the heart of the best part of Tuscany,,, near Florence and Siena...San Gimignano....it was super to have a hostess who really understood my English,,,very attentive to our needs,,, Paris is the best,, our hostess with her son Stefano who took us on a horseback ride,,, on the hill above them,,, we could see the world ....Certaldo is also a small and charming 1000 year old town....not crowded.....like many are.

This place was amazing! My daughter and I traveled to Italy to celebrate her receiving her teaching credential. It is in History so, Italy made a whole lot of sense. We flew into Rome and was there for about a week. When we left and headed out to the Tuscan countryside we were ready for a break from the noise and traffic of the city. After a drive we arrived in Certaldo and began our stay at a Bed and Breakfast that we had yet to see. The stay started off disastourous. My daughter and I are highly allergic to cigerette smoke and we were on the 2nd story of a farmhouse with a French couple below us who smoked all day and all night. We had confirmed with the hostess that this was a non-smoking B&B. We had alot of problems with the set up of the 2nd floor and the bed was awful. Our relaxing stay in the country was becoming more stressful than the city. We let our hostess know about the problem (after calling several times on Paris' cell phone, she finally came out to the farmhouse). She confronted the French couple who said we were lying about them smoking and they only smoked occassionally outside. We had paid everything up front and had only part of our money refunded after we said we were leaving. We were without a place to stay in the Tuscan countryside. Begin the superhero music...until Paris stepped in. Paris allowed my daughter and I to stay at her place until we found a place. We did...her's. It was so amazing. Finding hospitality like that in Italy in our time of need from a fellow Californian was so refreshing. She saved our vacation and was the best part of our trip. She didn't want us to pay her since our trip was ruined but we did anyway and left her all of our extra food. My fiance and I plan on going back and I know my daughter will with her friends.Paris, you are our hero and you made the trip a true success. Thank you for allowing my daughter to truly enjoy all the culture and beauty of the Italian countryside.

MY Holidays in Certaldo

well, this place really surprised us -  because the owner is a world travler - has been in the fashion business for many years - and the house is decorated in a beautiful mixture of Tuscan and country - great food -  good wine - and a home away from home - we really enjoyed the area and the atmosphere of the farm.

Our wonderful Tuscany esperience

Having never been to Italy, my husband and I feel we couldn't have picked a better B&B to stay in while in Tuscany than Villa Mugnano.  It had true Tuscan charm and our hostess, Paris, was the best.  Each morning, we had a wonderful breakfast under the oak tree in front of the house.  Our room was spacious and full of antique furniture...what a nice surprise!  We enjoyed a horseback ride into the Tuscan hills with Stefano....you could see for miles and miles, all the way to San Gimingnano.  While there, I had a tooth problem and Paris took me to her dentist...that's what friends do for each other.  We enjoyed the dogs and cats that live at the B&B, along with a couple of parakeets.  However, we felt very fortunate to get to know "Goofy", a little Screech Owl that Paris had rescued.  Each day, we set off on a new adventure...we were so centrally located we could visit Florence, Pisa, Lucca and other small villages, along with wonderful wineries.  If we ever get back to Tuscany, and I hope we do, we will certainly contact Paris...it would be like visiting an old friend.

First visit to Tuscany

This was our first visit to Tuscany, and the first time staying in a B&B, and both met up to our expectations. We spent 3 nights here in April, we were the only guests at the time. Certaldo is a perfect location for visiting many Tuscan sights, we went to Siena, Florence and San Gimagnano. Paris is a wonderful hostess, very helpful with things like giving directions and buying our train tickets for the trip to Florence. We were glad for her advice to take the train, so inexpensive and no hassles with parking, traffic, etc. We didn't have much time to sit around and relax except for the afternoon we got back from Florence. When Paris got home she found us out in the yard enjoying the last bits of sunshine along with a glass of Tuscan Chianti. Delightful!
